Hadith Seventeen
23 – Our grandfather narrated to us; al-Ṣalāḥ ibn Abī ʿUmar narrated to us; Ibn ⦗36⦘ al-Bukhārī narrated to us; al-Kindī narrated to us; Abū Manṣūr narrated to us; al-Khaṭīb narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn al-Muḥsin narrated to us; Ṭalḥah ibn Muḥammad narrated to us; ʿAlī ibn Muknaff, from ʿAlī ibn Ḥurmala, from Abū Yūsuf, from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Zubayd, from Dharr, from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from his father, reported that the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—used to recite in the first rakʿah of the witr prayer: “Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High” (Sūrah al-Aʿlā); in the second: “Say, ‘O disbelievers’” (Sūrah al-Kāfirūn); and in the third: “Say, ‘He is Allah, One’” (Sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ).
