22 – A group of our teachers narrated to us; Ibn al-Muḥibb narrated to us; al-Mizzī narrated to us; Ibn Abī ʿUmar narrated to us; my paternal uncle narrated to us; Abū ʾl-Fatḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Bāqī narrated to us; Ibn Khayrūn narrated to us; Abū ʿAlī ibn Shādhān narrated to us; Ibn al-ʿAllāf narrated to us; Abū Ḥafṣ al-Ashnanī narrated to us; Abū ʾl-Ḥasan al-Bartī narrated to me; Bishr ibn al-Walīd informed me; Abū Yūsuf the judge narrated—from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man—that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when asked about the ʿaqīqah (the newborn’s sacrificial offering), said: “I do not like ʿuqūq (disobedience).”
