Hadith Fifteen

19 – By the same chain to Yūsuf ibn Khalīl: Abū Jaʿfar al-Ṣaydilānī narrated to us; Abū Manṣūr al-Ṣayrafī narrated to us; Abū Bakr ibn Shadhān narrated to us—(ḥ) ⦗32⦘—he said: Abū al-Maḥāsin the merchant narrated to us; Abū al-Faḍl al-Thaqafī narrated to us; Abū al-Ṭāhir Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad, and they both said: Abū Bakr ibn Fūrak narrated to us; Abū Bakr ibn al-Nuʿmān narrated to us; Abū Nuʿaym al-Faḍl ibn Dukayn narrated to us; Abū Ḥanīfah narrated to us from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, who said:

“A female slave is not required to wear a qināʿ (face-veil) during the prayer, nor should she wrap herself in a khimār (head-scarf), even if she lives to be one hundred years old or bears a child for her master.”
