—writes: “We have no need to discuss the narrators of its isnād (chain of transmission), for the specialists in this field are unanimous that every ḥadīth found in the two Ṣaḥīḥs—or in either of them—is unquestionably authentic, universally accepted, and unanimously affirmed. In light of such consensus, every doubt is silenced and every misgiving removed. The leading imāms have robustly rebutted anyone who ventured to criticize anything contained therein, furnishing the most decisive refutations and the clearest proofs of its soundness. Therefore, examining its isnād after all this yields no benefit of real value: every one of its transmitters has already crossed the bridge of scrutiny, lifted above all gossip and debate, and is far too eminent to be the target of any critic’s slur or any detractor’s attempt to weaken them.” End quote.
These are merely a few samples of what the scholars have said about Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, attesting to its lofty status and to the ummah’s acceptance of it—and of Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim as well.
