For this reason, such people cite issues that are themselves disputed; and when one examines the evidences on which they base their disagreement, he finds yet other mistakes: sometimes a weak transmission, sometimes an ambiguous wording, and sometimes something else in which error may arise—at times in establishing its authenticity, and at times in grasping its meaning. Similar errors occur in what they report from the Prophet ﷺ: some originate in the isnad (chain of transmission), and others in the matn (actual wording of the report). Allah, exalted is He, knows best.
