But if the father dies in that state while still angry with his son, the only course left is for the son to repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness for what occurred. He should also perform acts of righteousness on his father’s behalf after the father’s death—such as giving charity for him, praying for him, and repeatedly asking Allah to pardon him—hoping that Allah will lighten the father’s claim against him.

Deceiving one’s Father for His Benefit
Question: My father contracted an illness that requires surgery, yet he refuses to undergo it. I therefore devised a plan and had the operation performed without his knowledge or consent. Does this count as undutifulness for which I am sinful? My motive was my love for my father and my hope that he would be cured. If, hypothetically, he were to die as a result of the surgery that I arranged, would I bear any sin?
Answer: You mention that your father was ill and needed surgery, that he did not wish to have it, and that you persisted or resorted to stratagem until it was carried out. Is there sin upon you for this?
There is no blame on you, Allah willing, because you sought his good and his benefit, not his harm. In fact, you have acted benevolently and may hope for reward from Allah, Allah willing. Even if he were to die from the effects of the operation, so long as it was a normal medical procedure, no negligence occurred, the physician was competent, and all the necessary conditions were met, then there is no sin on you. You were doing good, and Allah, the Exalted, says: “There is no path [of blame] upon those who do good” (Surah al-Tawbah 9:91). And Allah knows best.
