• A further sign of an accepted pilgrimage is that the pilgrim returns in a better spiritual state than before: he comes back repentant to Allah, upright upon His obedience, and persists in that condition. The ḥajj becomes a starting point for him toward every form of goodness and a wake-up call that sets him on the right course in life. These are among the hallmarks of ḥajj al-mabrūr.
