nor do they conceal what is underneath—either because the fabric is sheer or because it is so short that it fails to drape over the body.
Muslim women, therefore, must be mindful of this.

Avoiding distractions in the prayer
Question: May a Muslim woman pray while wearing a necklace around her neck or a ring on her finger, or while a picture or a mirror is in front of her? Please advise us—may Allah bless you.
Answer: A Muslim should stay away from anything that diverts his attention or disrupts his concentration during the prayer. He should not pray facing a mirror, an open door, or anything else that might distract him.
Likewise, with regard to images, a person should not pray in a place where pictures are hung or displayed. First, this imitates those who worship images; second, if the pictures are in front of him they will distract him and disturb his focus in the prayer.
As for wearing jewelry while praying, this is also one of the things that preoccupy the worshipper. A woman should not occupy herself during the prayer by putting on jewelry; rather, she should delay wearing her ornaments until after she has finished. If she does put them on and the act does not take a long time or involve excessive movement, her prayer remains valid. Light, minimal actions do not affect the prayer—such as adjusting one’s garment or head-covering, putting on a watch, and the like. These slight movements do not invalidate the prayer, even though it is better for a Muslim to devote himself entirely to his prayer and focus wholeheartedly on it.
