several impediments converge upon him:
-
He is muqmah—his head is forced upward by the iron collar around his neck, so he cannot look at what lies below him.
-
A barrier stands in front of him and another behind him, and Allah has veiled his sight; thus he cannot perceive anything around him. This happened because they turned away from the signs of Allah. Those verses never reached the core of their hearts, nor did their light penetrate their chests. Consequently they live in darkness, hesitation and deviation—may Allah protect us. The same fate will befall everyone who opposes the Messenger ﷺ and arrogantly rejects his call until the Day of Resurrection. We ask Allah for well-being and safety.

Question: Allah, Exalted is He, says in Sura Ya Sin, “He strikes for Us a parable and forgets his own creation, saying, ‘Who will revive the bones when they have decayed?’” (Ya Sin 78). What does this verse mean?
Answer: The verse records the disbeliever’s denial of the Resurrection. The preceding verses read: “Does not man see that We created him from a drop, and yet he becomes a clear adversary? He strikes for Us a parable and forgets his own creation, saying, ‘Who will revive the bones when they have decayed?’ Say, ‘He will revive them Who produced them the first time, and He has full knowledge of every act of creation’” (Ya Sin 77–79). This disbeliever rejects and deems impossible the idea that Allah could restore bones after they have disintegrated, vanished in the earth and become dust. He imagines that Allah lacks the power to bring them back a second time, and that notion springs from his ignorance. The proof of Allah’s power actually lies within himself, if only he would reflect: the One who created him the first time from a mere drop of despised fluid—a weak liquid—then produced from that feeble water a strong human being, is even more capable of bringing him back again. Whoever is able to originate creation is, a fortiori, able to recreate it. Yet he denies this sign within himself and rejects Allah’s ability, mighty and sublime, to bring it back.
