Sura al-Hashr
Question: I have heard that anyone who recites Sura al-Hashr every night and then dies that same night will be counted as a martyr. How sound is this report? Please advise us, and may Allah reward you.
Answer: I have not come across any hadith that singles out Sura al-Hashr with this particular virtue. Undoubtedly, Sura al-Hashr is a magnificent chapter: it begins by declaring Allah’s transcendence and ends with His Most Beautiful Names. It also describes the qualities of the Muhājirūn and the Anṣār and the noble services they rendered to Islam and in supporting the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In addition, it warns against the characteristics of the hypocrites, laying bare their evil and their plots. It is therefore a great sura containing immense merit—like every other sura of the Glorious Qur’an. As for the narration mentioned by the questioner, I searched for it and did not find it.

The Betrayal of the Wife of Noah and the Wife of Lot
Question: Allah, Exalted is He, says in Sura al-Taḥrīm: “Allah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were married to two of Our righteous servants, yet they betrayed them; so those prophets could not avail them in any way against Allah, and it was said, ‘Enter the Fire along with those who enter.’” (Sura al-Taḥrīm 66:10). In what respect did those two women betray them?
