The greatest thing Allah has enjoined is tawḥid.
Indeed, the foremost command that Allah has given is tawḥid—singling Him out alone in worship.⦗17⦘
(17) His statement, peace be upon him, “The greatest command God has given is tawhid (affirming His oneness)” is of paramount importance: tawhid is indeed the foremost divine injunction, and all other commands come after it. The evidence is the verse: “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him” and the rest of the passage (Q 4:36). This verse lists ten specific rights, which is why it is called “the verse of the ten rights.” The first is Allah’s own right: “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him.” The second is to treat one’s parents with excellence, and the third concerns “relatives.” The term dhu al-qurba (relatives) covers everyone tied to you by blood on either the father’s or the mother’s side—such as fathers, grandfathers, paternal and maternal uncles and aunts, brothers and sisters, their children, and the children of paternal uncles and aunts. All these kin have a rightful claim upon you by virtue of family ties.
أعظم ما أمر الله به التوحيد
وَأَعْظَمُ مَا أَمَرَ اللهُ بِهِ التَّوْحيِدُ، وَهُوَ إفراد الله بالعبادة [١٧]
[١٧] قوله ﵀: أعظم ما أمر الله به التوحيد: هذا مهم جدا، إن التوحيد أعظم ما أمر الله به، كل الأوامر التي أمر الله بها كلها بعد التوحيد.
ما الدليل على أن أعظم ما أمر الله به التوحيد قوله تعالى: ﴿وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا﴾ إلى آخر الآية [النساء: ٣٦] .
هذه الآية فيها عشرة حقوق؛ ولهذا تسمى آية الحقوق العشرة، أول هذه الحقوق حق الله سبحانه: ﴿وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا﴾ هذا هو الحق الثاني، ﴿وَذِي الْقُرْبَى﴾ هذا هو الحق الثالث، وذوو القربى هم الذين تجمعك بهم قرابة نسبية من جهة الأب أو الأم، كالآباء والأجداد، والأعمام والعمات، والأخوال والخالات، والإخوة والأخوات، وأولاد الإخوه والأخوات، وأولاد الأعمام والعمات، هؤلاء هم ذوو القربى، لهم حق القرابة.
