Loyalty and Disavowal
Third: Whoever obeys the Messenger and affirms Allah’s oneness is not permitted to be loyal to anyone who opposes Allah and His Messenger, even if that person is his closest relative. ⦗10⦘
…illicit earnings, for the mosques belong to Allah, and—as the Prophet said—“Allah accepts only what is pure.” They must therefore be built from lawful funds, and the builder’s intention must be exclusively for the sake of Allah alone, desiring neither people’s praise, nor the perpetuation of his own name, nor any form of ostentation or reputation. Erecting a mosque is an act of worship, and every act of worship must be devoted purely to Allah.
(10) Anyone who upholds this principle must not show loyalty to those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they are his closest relatives.
This concerns the doctrine of al-wala wa-l-bara (loyalty and disavowal), which is an integral part of tawhid. Among the rights entailed by monotheism is loyalty to the friends of Allah and disavowal of His enemies. The terms wala and muwalat are synonymous: wala can denote heartfelt love, practical support and assistance, and even legal matters such as inheritance and collective financial liability in cases of accidental homicide.
الوَلاء وَالبَرَاء
الثَّالِثَةُ: أَنَّ مَنْ أَطَاعَ الرَّسُولَ، وَوَحَّدَ اللهَ، لا يَجُوزُ لَهُ مُوَالاةُ مَنْ حَادَّ اللهَ ورسوله ولو كان أقرب قريب [١٠]
كسب حرام لأنها لله ﷿، «الله لا يقبل إلا طيبًا» فتبنى المساجد من نفقة حلال، وتكون نية بانيها خالصة لوجه الله ﷿ لا يريد من بنائه مدحًا من الناس، أو تخليدًا لذكره، أو رياء أو سمعة فإن بناء المساجد عبادة والعبادة يجب أن تكون خالصة لله ﷿.
[١٠] لا يجوز لمن فعل ذلك موالاة من حاد الله ورسوله ولو كان أقرب قريب.
هذه مسألة الولاء والبراء وهي تابعة للتوحيد، من حقوق التوحيد الولاء لأولياء الله والبراء من أعداء الله، والموالاة والولاء بمعنى واحد، والولاء يراد به المحبة بالقلب، ويراد به المناصرة والمعاونة، ويراد به الإرث والعقل في الديات.
