And His words, wa’staghfir (and seek forgiveness), denote action; hence the Exalted placed knowledge before action. For if a deed is performed in ignorance, it brings no benefit to its doer. A person must therefore begin with knowledge and then act on what he has learned—this is the essential foundation.
