“Those who disbelieve claim…” In Arabic the word zaʿm (“claim”) implies a lie. The continuation, “that they will never be resurrected,” shows that denying the Resurrection is itself disbelief. They say, “There is no rising after death.” The idol-worshipping polytheists at the time of the Prophet ﷺ used to argue about the Resurrection, saying: “When we have become decayed bones, shall we really be raised again? They said, ‘That then would be a losing return.’” (al-Nāziʿāt 79:11-12). They also said, “Who will revive the bones when they have crumbled to dust?” (Yā Sīn 36:78). Among their objections was: “Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones you will be brought out again? Far, far is that which you are promised!” (al-Muʾminūn 23:35-36), and many other statements voiced by disbelievers of earlier nations and by the idolaters contemporary with the Prophet ﷺ. Whoever denies the Resurrection is counted among those unbelievers.
No one rejects the Resurrection except a disbeliever. Indeed, Allah—glorified and exalted—commanded His Prophet ﷺ to swear by Him concerning the Resurrection. He said: “Say: ‘Yes indeed—by my Lord—you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you used to do.’” This verse contains an oath, and it is one of three passages in which Allah ordered His Prophet to swear regarding the Resurrection.

The second is in Sūrah Sabaʾ:
