…This indicates that no one is to be instructed to perform prayer, pay zakah, or observe fasting until tawhid (pure monotheism) has been realized. Whoever begins his daʿwah with anything other than tawhid will see his call fail, and his approach will differ from that of all the messengers, peace be upon them. All the messengers began with tawhid and the rectification of creed. Knowing this methodology is essential for seekers today, for many people now muddy these waters, abandoning the prophetic path and devising programs of their own—or of other ignorant individuals.
