The Call to Knowledge
Third: Inviting others to it [9]

…those who act without knowledge He called al-dallin (the misguided), and those who know yet fail to act He called al-maghdub alayhim (those who incur divine wrath). We must be alert to this, for it is extremely important. (9) Concerning the phrase “calling to it”: it is not enough for a person to learn and apply knowledge only to himself while failing to invite others to Allah. He must also call others, so that he benefits both himself and them. This knowledge is a trust, not a private property to be hoarded while depriving people who need it. You are therefore obliged to convey it, explain it, and summon people to what is good. The knowledge with which Allah has entrusted you is not reserved exclusively for you; it is for you and for others. Do not monopolize it and prevent people from benefiting from it. Rather, you must transmit it and clarify it for them. Allah says, “When Allah took a covenant from those who had been given the Scripture: ‘You shall make it clear to the people and not conceal it’” (Al Imran 187).
