936 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Maʿmar narrated to us; from Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah, who said:

“A scholar is not merely someone who can tell good from evil; the true scholar is the one who, having recognized the good, follows it, and having recognized the evil, avoids it.”
