909 – ʿAbdullah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Aʿmash, from Abu al-Duḥā, who said: Someone who had heard ʿĀʾishah—may Allah have mercy on her—recite the verse, “So Allah was gracious to us and protected us from the torment of the scorching heat” (Q 52:27), told me that she would then supplicate, “My Lord, bestow Your grace upon me and protect me from the torment of the scorching heat.”
