867 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us; Qurra narrated to us, from ʿAwn ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUtbah, who said: ʿAbd Allah said, “Knowledge is not attained by amassing numerous narrations; true knowledge is khashyah (reverent fear of Allah).”
