856 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; Yahya ibn Saʿid said, on the authority of Shuʿbah; Abu Ishaq narrated to me, from Murrah, who said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Masʿud said, “Whoever seeks knowledge should delve deeply into the Quran, for within it is the knowledge of those who came before and those who will come after.”
