ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Wakiʿ narrated to us; al-Masʿudi narrated to us, from ʿAsim ibn Abi al-Najud, from Abu Waʾil, from ʿAbd Allah, who said:

“Whoever humbles himself before Allah in reverent submission, Allah will raise him up on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever exalts himself in arrogance, Allah will abase him on the Day of Resurrection.”
