- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “I read this report to my father.” Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Madāʾinī narrated to us; ʿAbbād ibn al-ʿAwwām informed us, from Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn, who said: Abu al-Hakam—meaning Siyyar—told me, from Abu Wāʾil, from Ibn Masʿūd, who said:
“On the Day of Resurrection there will be no person who will not wish that, in this world, he had eaten only what sufficed him for nourishment. It will not harm any one of you—no matter in what worldly condition he greets the morning or ends the day—so long as his soul harbors no rancor.”
