- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; al-Hasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz al-Jarawi narrated to us. He said: Damrah wrote to us, from Ibn Shawdhab, who reported:
Salman—may Allah have mercy on him—was having his companion shave his head. Someone remarked, “What is this?” He replied, “The only real life is the life of the Hereafter.”
٨٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْجَرَوِيُّ قَالَ: كَتَبَ إِلَيْنَا ضَمْرَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ قَالَ: كَانَ سَلْمَانُ (رحمه الله) يَحْلِقُ رَأْسَهُ رَفِيقُهُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: مَا هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا الْعَيْشُ عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ "
