Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

834 • ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Sulaymān ibn Ḥarb reported to us; Ḥammād ibn Zayd, from Kulthūm—the imām of the Banū Qushayr mosque—relayed from al-Faḍl al-Raqāshī, from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Abū Hurayrah who said:

“It is as though I can see us now, leaving the Prophet’s Basin (hawḍ) and proceeding to the Reckoning. A man will turn to his companion and ask, ‘Did you drink, O so-and-so?’ He will answer, ‘No—and what thirst I feel!’”
