- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Jabalah ibn ʿAmr ibn Abi Rawwad related to us; Muhammad ibn Marwan narrated to us, from Hisham, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah. He used to say to his daughter: “My little girl, do not wear gold—I fear the blazing flame for you. And do not wear silk, for I fear the burning fire upon you.”
٨٣٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ لِابْنَتِهِ: يَا بُنَيَّةُ لَا تَلْبِسِي الْمُذَهَّبَ؛ ⦗١٢٧⦘ إِنِّي أَخْشَى عَلَيْكِ اللَّهَبَ، وَلَا تَلْبِسِي الْحَرِيرَ إِنِّي أَخْشَى عَلَيْكِ الْحَرِيقَ "
