817 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Yazid narrated to us; Sulayman al-Taymi informed us, from Abu ʿUthman al-Nahdi, who said:

Salman—may Allah have mercy on him—advised, “Do not be the first to enter the marketplace nor the last to leave it, for there Satan gains his foothold and plants his banner.”

Yahya remarked, “Indeed, it is Satan’s very battlefield.”
