- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father then narrated to us; ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad said: I heard an elder state that Abu Dharr would proclaim:
“O people, I am a sincere adviser to you, I am genuinely concerned for you. Pray in the darkness of the night to ease the desolation of the graves. Fast in this worldly life to shield yourselves from the scorching heat of the Day of Resurrection. Give charity out of fear of a harsh and difficult Day.
“O people, I am a sincere adviser to you, I am genuinely concerned for you.”
٨٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ شَيْخًا، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَانَ يَقُولُ: يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ، إِنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ شَفِيقٌ، صَلُّوا فِي ظُلْمَةِ اللَّيْلِ لِوَحْشَةِ الْقُبُورِ، وَصُومُوا الدُّنْيَا لِحَرِّ يَوْمِ النُّشُورِ، وَتَصَدَّقُوا مَخَافَةَ يَوْمٍ عَسِيرٍ، يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ، إِنِّي عَلَيْكُمْ شَفِيقٌ "
