- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Rawḥ narrated to us; ʿAwf narrated and said: “It has reached me that Umm Dharr reproached Abu Dharr about the meagerness of their livelihood. He replied, ‘O Umm Dharr, ahead of us lies a steep, arduous ascent, and the one who travels it lightly burdened will fare better than the one weighed down.’”
٨٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ أُمَّ ذَرٍّ، عَاتَبَتْ أَبَا ذَرٍّ فِي مَعِيشَتِهِمَا: فَقَالَ لَهَا: يَا أُمَّ ذَرٍّ، إِنَّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا عَقَبَةً كَئُودًا وَإِنَّ الْمُخِفَّ فِيهَا أَهْوَنُ مِنَ الْمُثْقِلِ "
