- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Rawh narrated to us; ʿAwf narrated to us from al-Hasan, who said:
Talha ibn ʿUbayd Allah sold a tract of land for seven hundred thousand. The money remained with him that night, and he lay awake, unable to sleep for fear of it until daybreak; then he distributed it.
٧٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: بَاعَ أَرْضًا بِسَبْعِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ يَعْنِي طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ فَبَاتَ ذَلِكَ الْمَالُ عِنْدَهُ لَيْلَةً، فَبَاتَ أَرِقًا مِنْ مَخَافَةِ ذَلِكَ الْمَالِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ، فَفَرَّقَهُ "
