782. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn ʿAbbad narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us from Talha ibn Yahya, from his grandmother Saʿdā bint ʿAwf al-Murriyya, who said:

One morning Talha woke up dispirited. I asked, “What is the matter with you? Has something upset you so that we might make amends?” He replied, “No. By Allah, you are indeed an excellent wife, but a large sum of money has accumulated with me and it is causing me anxiety.” I said, “Then call your people to receive it.” He called out, “Boy, bring my people to me,” and he distributed the money among them. I later asked the treasurer, “How much was that wealth?” He answered, “Four hundred thousand.”
