ʿAbd Allah related to us; he said: my father related to me; ʿAbd al-Samad related to us; Abu al-Ashhab related to us, from al-Hasan, who said: Abu al-Dardaʾ used to say, “Whoever lets his soul chase after everything he observes among people, his sorrow will be prolonged and his anger will never subside.”
