Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Bayān ibn al-Ḥakam related to me; Abu Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn Ḥātim narrated to us; Bishr ibn al-Ḥārith told me; ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus informed us, from al-Aʿmash, from someone who conveyed it to him, from Umm al-Dardāʾ: she once complained to Abū al-Dardāʾ that the flour had run out. He said, “Ahead of us lies a steep and arduous pass; the one who goes through it light is better than the one who is burdened.”
