ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Wakiʿ narrated to me, from Malik ibn Mighwal and al-Masʿudi, from ʿAwn, who said: Umm al-Dardaʾ was asked, “What was Abu al-Dardaʾ’s most excellent deed?” She replied, “Contemplation and taking heed.”
