- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Abu al-Mundhir Ismaʿil ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; Sufyan, from Saʿid ibn ʿUbayd, from ʿAli ibn Rabiʿah, reported that ʿAli—may Allah honor his countenance—had two wives. When it was the turn of one of them, he would buy meat for half a dirham, and when it was the turn of the other, he would likewise buy meat for half a dirham.
٦٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، «أَنَّ عَلِيًّا (عليه السلام) كَانَ لَهُ امْرَأَتَانِ كَانَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ هَذِهِ اشْتَرَى لَحْمًا بِنِصْفِ دِرْهَمٍ وَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ هَذِهِ اشْتَرَى لَحْمًا بِنِصْفِ دِرْهَمٍ»
