688 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Hammad ibn Khalid narrated to us; al-Zubayr ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; from his grandmother, a woman named Zuhaymah, who said: “ʿUthman—may Allah be pleased with him—used to fast during the day and spend the night in prayer, pausing only for a brief slumber at its beginning.”
