- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Maʿmar related to us; Abu ʿUbaydah al-Haddad transmitted, from ʿAwf. He said: Khalid al-Rabaʿi told me, saying, “I find it written in the earlier books that on the Day of Resurrection ʿUthman ibn ʿAffan will say, ‘My Lord, I was abandoned; Your believing servants have killed me.’”
٦٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدٌ الرَّبَعِيُّ قَالَ: إِنِّي أَجِدُ فِي الْكُتُبِ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ: «رَبِّي أَسْلِمْنِي قَتَلَنِي عِبَادُكَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ»
