- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us—my father related to me—Abu Muʿawiyah narrated to us, from ʿAsim, from Ibn Sirin, who said: When ʿUthman was killed, his wife exclaimed, “You have murdered him, even though he used to keep the whole night alive in worship, reciting the Quran in a single rakʿah (cycle of prayer).”
٦٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ: قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ عُثْمَانَ حِينَ قُتِلَ: «لَقَدْ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُحْيِي اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ بِالْقُرْآنِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ»
