Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. Dawud ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Abi Zinad narrated to us, from his father, from ʿUrwah and Sulayman ibn Yasar, on the authority of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah:

He and Ibn ʿAbbas once entered upon ʿUmar ibn al-Khattab. They said, “The prayer, O Commander of the Believers,” after the sky had already grown bright. He replied, “Yes—and whoever abandons the prayer has no share in Islam.” He then performed the prayer while his wound was still gushing blood.
