- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us; Yazid ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, who said: ʿUmar—may Allah have mercy on him—said, “Hold fast to the remembrance of Allah, for it is a cure, and beware of talking about people, for that is a disease.”
٦٤٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ (رضي الله عنه): «عَلَيْكُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ شِفَاءٌ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَذِكْرَ النَّاسِ فَإِنَّهُ دَاءٌ»
