Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Abu Muʿawiyah narrated to us; Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani narrated to us, from Bashir ibn ʿAmr, who said:

When ʿUmar—may Allah have mercy on him—arrived in Syria, a burdhawn (a high-bred riding horse) was brought to him, so he mounted it. He urged it on and, when it began to prance, he dismounted and said, “May Allah disgrace the one who taught you this!”
