596 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Yaʿqūb narrated to us; Rawḥ informed us; Abū Khuldah reported: I heard Abū al-ʿĀliyah say, “The supplication I most often heard ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb utter was: ‘O Allah, grant us well-being and pardon us.’”
٥٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو خَلْدَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ: أَكْثَرُ مَا كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ (رضي الله عنه) يَقُولُ: «اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنَا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا»
