ʿAbd Allāh related to us; he said: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar related to me; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dāwūd related to us, from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: “Abū Bakr died without leaving a single dinar or dirham; before that he had gathered his wealth and deposited it in the Bayt al-māl (public treasury).”
