Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “I firmly hope that Allah will bring this affair to full completion for you, O assembly of Arabs, so that a man among you will call for his loaf of wheat bread and, if he wishes, say to his household, ‘Serve it with ghee,’ or, if he prefers, ‘Serve it with oil.’”
٥٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو لَكُمْ أَنْ يُتَمِّمَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْعُرَيْبِ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ مِنْكُمْ لَيَدْعُو بِخُبْزَتِهِ مِنَ الْحِنْطَةِ فَإِنْ شَاءَ قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ: أَيْدِمُوا بِسَمْنٍ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ قَالَ: أَيْدِمُوا بِزَيْتٍ "
