Abdullah related to us—my father informed me; Waki‘ narrated to us, and Mis‘ar narrated from Abu ‘Awn al-Thaqafi, from ‘Arfajah al-Sulami, who said: Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, declared, “Weep; and if you are unable to weep, then force yourselves to weep.”
