Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal

550 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us; Maʿmar related to us, from ʿAbd al-Razzāq Abū ʿUthmān, an elder from Basra: Luqmān said to his son, “My son, do not seek the friendship of the ignorant, for he will imagine that you are pleased with his deeds. And do not make light of the displeasure of the wise, lest he lose all regard for you.”
