546 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father related it to me; Abu Muʿāwiyah informed us; Hishām ibn ʿUrwah reported from his father, who said: “It is recorded among the maxims of wisdom: ‘Do not betray the betrayer; his own treachery is punishment enough for him.’”
