532 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Miskīn ibn Bukayr narrated to us; Sufyān informed us, from someone who conveyed it to him:
“Luqmān the Wise said to his son, ‘My dear son, the world is a deep ocean in which many people have drowned. Let your ship upon it be the taqwā of Allah (God-conscious piety), its cargo faith in Allah, and its sail reliance upon Allah, that you may be saved—yet I do not see you among the saved.’”
