523 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Yunus ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn Maʿqil ibn Wahb ibn Munabbih reported: ʿAbd Allah ibn Bahīr, the preacher, informed me that Wahb—meaning ibn Munabbih—said:
“One of the scholars of the Children of Israel remarked, ‘This morning I find myself like a lone cluster overlooked by the fruit-picker, like a single ear of grain left behind after the reaper; so what, then, can I possibly ward off?’”
