- ʿAbdullāh related to us, my father related to us, Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan related to us, Jaʿfar informed us, on the authority of Mālik ibn Dīnār, who said: “It has reached me that it was said to the Children of Israel, ‘You call upon Me with your tongues while your hearts are far away from Me; the fear you claim to feel is futile.’”
٥١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ: " بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ: تَدْعُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَقُلُوبُكُمْ بَعِيدَةٌ مِنِّي، بَاطِلٌ مَا تَرْهَبُونَ "
