Report 53: ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Bayān ibn al-Ḥakam narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn Ḥātim Abū Jaʿfar narrated to us, from Bishr ibn al-Ḥārith, who informed us, from Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh, from Layth, from al-Ḥakam, who said:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “When a servant falls short in his deeds, Allah tries him with anxiety.”
